There are many great affettati (lunch meats) for you to try in Chianti and Siena – along with many other typical Tuscan dishes. There are a variety of great traditional seafood-based meals too, which you can often find in eateries closer to the coast.
One of the greatest things about the incredible Tuscan cuisine is that you’ll often be able to find a tasty traditional meal no matter where you are in the region.
The numerous shops
Typically, shopping isn’t something that people consider when planning vacations in Tuscany – although you’ll find that this region is often thought of as a dream come true for any shopaholic. Florence is just one example of a town with countless stores; from luxury brand shops, to small boutiques.
You could even head a little outside of Florence to check out some of the great shopping outlets that are located in the area. One that you’re sure to want to visit is The Mall. Here, you’ll find a variety of items from the biggest brands, from Armani to Gucci.
Another outlet that you’re likely to want to check out is the Barberino Designer Outlet. There are a variety of great products from both luxury brands and more affordable options, so you’ll often be able to find something that suits your tastes and budget.
Arezzo has an incredible antique market every first Saturday of each month – and this is just one of many traditional markets held in the area.
Ponte Vecchio is a popular shopping destination, as the many jewelry stores on the ancient bridge have a plethora of wares that could act as the perfect souvenir to remember your stay.
